CRT Bartop with Marquee
December 14, 2005 A backlit marquee adds zing to the basic CRT Bartop. This design is ideal for all-in-one computer designs (such as G3 iMacs), mini-case CPUs, and notebooks driving an external 15" CRT monitor. Modifications to cabinet dimensions are required for most larger displays.
The screen bezel cutout should be modified to your display size and position. Use cardboard templates for testing before cutting the screen bezel. The control panel should be designed based on gaming preferences and space requirements. As a minimum, cabinets should include venting cutouts to prevent overheating. Vents should be placed at the top and bottom portions of each required space to allow cooling convection. A computer fan mounted at an upper vent to exhaust hot air is recommended. Audio preferences and installed speakers vary for each user. The placement of required speaker mounting cutouts (if desired) should be determined before cabinet construction. A 1.25" hole should be drilled for power cords, preferably in the lower back panel. A surge protector power strip should be located inside the cabinet. A Blender 3D model of this bartop arcade cabinet design is available in our 3D Models section. |
