Not Recommended PSP Games
Updated October 25, 2007 These titles are highly flawed, offer little to no redeeming value, and aren't worth even renting. Games are listed in order with the best at the top of the page. |
![]() While the games in this collection are emulated well, the noteworthy titles have already been updated to appear on other platforms over the years. These original versions have not aged gracefully, and are better left to memory. |
![]() The "Imperfects" are a cheesy and forgettable fabrication which does not mesh with the Marvel comic universe. It is nice that the interactive environments can be used in the battles, but that is not enough to make the experience engaging. |
![]() There is plenty here for devotees of early RPGs to enjoy, however the play is too classic to the point of being musty. Character skills and equipment don't reward predictably, and the loading times are unreasonable for a game that doesn't tax any of the PSP's technology. |
![]() Graphics are scaled without anti-aliasing, and some games have serious emulation and audio issues. Despite that many of the best games from the arcade era are included in this collection, the presentation distracts too much to do them justice. |
![]() This is a non-roaming, fixed-path platformer with elementary battles thrown in. The graphics and character animations are sometimes fun to watch, although they are too flashy for the simplistic play and weak audio. Those expecting anything similar to Turtles fighting games from past decades will be highly disappointed. |
![]() Pac-Mac was once the most recognizable game character in the world. Uninspired platforming combines with pointless story and sloppy controls to miss everything that made the franchise popular. |

![]() The graphics are cute and in keeping with the television series, yet there is an obvious lack of audio that could have been lifted from the cartoon. The story is tiresome, the controls are imprecise, and the game fails at an attempt to combine platforming and RPG elements. |
![]() Form chains of three or more identical gems by swapping them with neighboring gems on a grid. The mundane puzzle action of this Bejeweled clone is accompanied by changing backgrounds and repetitive music. |
![]() Levels must be constantly revisited, the controls are often unresponsive, and the presentation is substandard. While the old Bobble games offered hours of enjoyment, this title is tedius and doesn't live up to either the original platform or puzzle variants. |
![]() Frame-rate issues, clipping problems, skipping background music, and even display freezes combine to make game-play downright unpleasant. When things actually work, the challenges are obtuse and onerous. |
![]() A potentially fun street racing strategy concept is destroyed by unresponsive controls, monotonous environments, and short races. Navigate through menus, load, and repeat. |
